We continue our truth research approach on unfortunate events that have come into our country since independence to the present day. Today we are interested in the events of 1972 because the military clique of the CNDDFDD in power is manipulating the opinion, using Pierre Claver Ndayicariye and its famous truth and reconciliation commission (CVR), as well as Sylvestre Ntibantunganya to reach Prove that these events constitute a genocide against Hutus; All this for purely political goals. The truth is thus hidden to surface what power wants to show to its Hutu electorate and the international community. We are committed to looking for all those who have seen how things have been planned, how the events started, who did what; This to prevent people only thinking about Pierre Claver Ndayicariye, Ntibantunganya sylvestre and their boss (the power of Gitega).
The ocular witness of the 1972 events that tells us what he lived is Mr. Karihanze Pierre, he was studying at Mutumba in 8th year, but was hosted in a hutched family. He tells us that the events of 1972 had been well prepared in advance by Hutus groups who had the goal of exterminating Tutsis. It was in March 1972. In the same month, Pierre remembers that Hutus teachers had asked students to bring hoes, machetes and snakes to maintain the school; And this material has been stored at school. It will be used by Hutu peasants living on the heights of Mutumba to slaughter the Tutsis from April 29, 1972. Other showing that he will never forget, it is that the same Hutus teachers often put in front of everyone in class two students, a Hutu and another Tutsi, with the aim of teaching them the morphological difference between the two ethnic groups.
According to our witness, the finalist students, responsible for the Scout Movement, had prepared a campfire in Rumonge for 29, 30 April and May 1, 1972. They had even rented a truck that should ensure this transport. They did not inform the school authorities about the conduct of this activity, especially since they were days off. This is the date of April 29, 1972, this truck already prepared at school, they went to seek provisions for three days to the director of internship who immediately refused because was not at the current of this activity, otherwise not programmed by the school. The truck returned back and these students left school on the evening of Saturday, April 29 and returned to school on Monday 01 May 1972 with red eyes. Probably they participated in the massacres that took place on Saturday, 29 and 30 April 1972. According to information that students have collected, these students would be among the group that intercepted and killed Kinyomvyi and companions at the height of the Regina Cathedral Mundi who headed for officers’ mess to prepare the arrival of President Micombero who should participate in the dance party; an activity organized that same day throughout the country.
Pierre Karihanze will never forget some Ndikumana Sylvestre, teacher in Masama in Kabezi, but who lived Migera, who had invited Mr Gabriel, Hutu and wedding godfather, to share a drink on April 28th. He left the home of Sylvestre midnight, but in the morning, it was he who brought to Sylvestre a group of criminals, covered with tree foliage with a white dye in the face, shouting Mayi Mulele. They removed NDikumana sylvestre, his wife and two daughters and drove them to the main road Bujumbura-Rumonge. There, Sylvestre was surprised to see Mr Ndaruzaniye Stanyslas, himself teacher in Mutumba, mounted on a van, with a megaphone, shouting aloud  » Revolution, Revolution, we must get rid of Tutsis  ». He was accompanied by a certain Murigancuro, Hutu Rwandan, son of Kiraryana who lived in Kabezi. Ndikumana sylvestre was killed with a spear on the field while his wife and girls would be killed later when they discovered their place of cache. They had been released because criminals said at first that we should not kill women and girls because they planned to marry them.
Pierre Kariane remembered the Revolution of the Kayibanda in Rwanda in 1959 and said that a Hutus extremist group has always tried to copy and paste from what happened in Rwanda without reaching everything to do. The events of 1965, 1972 and 1993 are examples speaking.
