Burundi: Why Evariste Ndayishimiye turns his eyes to the Arab countries
Search for currencies? Fuel? We will know it. A press release from President Ndayishimiye’s spokesperson which circulates on social networks announces a trip, on November 8, 2021, of President Evariste Ndayishimiye and his wife to the United Arab Emirates. The president’s mission will last 5 days; we can read in this statement. It’s strange to see as a reason for the displacement of the presidential couple:  » Take part in the universal exhibition of Doubai, Expo2020 Dubai  »! The visit is also part of the strengthening of relations between Burundi and the United Arab Emirates; Add the press release. A formula always used during the trips of all world’s heads of state when they visit other countries.
But, the true reason for the five-day visit remains a state secret. It should be imagined, however, to imagine what pushes President Evariste Ndayishimiye to turn his eyes to the Arab countries today.
The first observation is that Burundi is in a catastrophic economic situation. This country under the dictatorship of the CNDFDD since 2005 today knows unnamed poverty; A poorest country in the world as it is full of important mining riches (some that we cannot even find in other corners of the world). It is then understandable that poor governance is the main cause of its underdevelopment. Upon arrival, the leaders of the CNDDFDD were running at the watch to get rich as quickly as possible. And as their power reinforced, the CNDFDD began to hunt, in all areas of the country’s life, all the qualified non-member staff of that party to replace them with incompetents, even untrained, only because they are members of the CNDDFDD; One way to find them work to reward their efforts in favour of this party since the time of the rebellion. The country is therefore fell on a slippery slope and is currently on the bottom of the world.
Today, the country lacks currency, there is a lack of drugs, fertilizers, cement, sugar, raw materials for the functioning of all that remains functional as companies or production companies; It displays a lack of fuel to such an extent that the Minister in charge of this domain announces on the media that stocks are empty. Hospitals shout that ambulances cannot find fuel and severe sick Burundians must die because cannot be rescued.
The power of Evariste Ndayishimiye stirred heaven and earth for the European Union to open the faucets closed since 2016 following the serious violations of human rights as demonstrations against the third illegal and illegitimate mandate of the Former President Pierre Nkurunziza. The EU has not directly accepted the demand because President Ndayishimiye’s good intentions speeches have never been followed by concrete facts about respect for human rights. On the other hand, forced disappearances, arbitrary arrests, torture, abusive imprisonments, have multiplied and corpses are found every day in the rivers and lakes and on the hills. Under these conditions, European and American faucets should continue to close.
The first hypothesis is that Evariste Ndayishimiye, very harassed by the risk of arrest of his Government for lack of financial resources, would have decided to turn to the Arab countries that impose any condition of respect for human’s rights. The risk of collaborating with states that support global terrorism is great. Russia and China were the main partners of CNDDFDD power since the imposition of economic sanctions by European countries less France which has always been on the Burundi government side for unclear reasons. France would be suspected of still supporting the FDRLs through its partnership in defence that it has initiated with Burundi in violation of European sanctions. One way of wanting to correct his error of 1994 when these genocidaires were driven out of Rwanda by the RPF forces as they had total support from France
Second hypothesis: The power of Evariste Ndayishimiye is gradually changing the former suppliers of fuel and other necessities set up by its predecessor to give markets to the partners negotiated by itself or its men. It is in this same register that it is broken the mining contracts with the former partners (we detailed it in one of our publications). Talluk Bachir who had the monopoly on the delivery of fuel in Burundi is no longer in good terms with Evariste Ndayishimiye. He is about to be replaced by a Burundian supplier. Someone who is suspected of having much more luck from the others is the businessman Adrien Ntigacika , known under the name of Ziranotse. During this visit, President Ndayishimiye could negotiate for him in the United Arab Emirates, a major supplier who will be in permanent contact with power, and ziranotse will only be an official intermediary.
We will later know the real motives of this visit from 5 days of the presidential couple. Five days that seem too much for a country that accuses a shiny currency lack. This is to say that the little remaining is fully used for non-productive visits of the presidential couple as if they made pleasure trips with the dirty of the Burundian taxpayer.
URN hitamwoneza once again asks Burundians to realize that the CNDDFDD power that has been in hostage the people since 2005 has only ruin this beautiful country that arrives on a slippery slope. To everyone thinking about what should be done to save what remains to save. Burundi’s partners should still pay attention to the support they are considering bringing the power of Evariste Ndayishimiye. Those who have the principle of cooperation with respect for human rights realize that this power is just the opposite despite the good statements by Evariste Ndayishimiye. He speaks respect for human rights, fight against corruption and economic malpractices, but men under his orders are just the opposite of what he says to the media. This is to say that it is a game agreed in the military clique in power, just to distract the opinion. This power, with the genocidal aims, should be driven out so that Burundians find informed leaders who could bring together all Burundians, without exclusion, for the reconstruction and social development of the country.
